Kitchen Manager (22.5 hours/week)22.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday - 09:30-14:00) We are open to the right candidate being a staff member on payroll or being self-employed Interested in sharing your love of cooking with vulnerable young adults? If so, this is the job for you! Development & Learning Opportunities (DALO) is a day service for people who have learning and/or physical disabilities. We support them to maintain & build their life skills through a programme of activities which include the likes of money management, art & craft, music and community access. Our day centre is an unashamedly colourful, vibrant and exciting place to work, and somewhere that both our staff and members (our word for clients) feel at home! We're on the lookout for a Kitchen Manager/Chef who will support our members each day with preparing lunch for the other attendees of the day centre and ensure that the kitchen space continues to comply with the regulations of the Food Standards Agency. As a result, this role will involve some administration as well as cooking. Deputy Unit Lead (Senior Support Worker) (37.5 hours/week)Keen to take a step up into a junior management role within health & social care? Enjoy supporting young adults with additional needs to become more independent? If so, this is the job for you! Development & Learning Opportunities (DALO) is a day service for people who have learning and/or physical disabilities. We support them to maintain & build their life skills through a programme of activities which include likes of money management, art & craft, music and community access. Our day centre is an unashamedly colourful, vibrant and exciting place to work, and somewhere that both our staff and members (our word for ‘clients’) feel at home! We're on the lookout for a Deputy Unit Lead who acts as a senior facilitator within each of the groups that the members are split into each day. It involves taking on additional administrative duties required for supporting the group, periodically liaising with parents/carers and external professionals and, when the Unit Lead is absent, taking on management responsibilities of the staff within the group. As a result, you’ll need to have a solid foundation within health & social care, some experience of team leading and strong communication & administrative skills. In this role you would be expected to (further details in job description): Provide support to the young people, whether that be in their day-to-day activities, accessing the community and/or personal care needs Take responsibility for certain administrative tasks within the unit and take on the team lead role when the Unit Lead is away from the day centre Attend training courses and share knowledge with the wider staff team to ensure that you remain up to date on current best practice and support others to do so also Requirements: At least 3 years’ previous work experience within health & social care (e.g. as a support worker in a day service) and ideally have taken on some additional administrative / management responsibilities during this time Experience of working with people with additional needs (ideally those learning disabilities and/or physical disabilities) Have a caring and empathetic personality with an innate desire to support others to live the kind of life they want to live Good administration and communication skills Ideal but not required - Level 2 and above qualification in health & social care Benefits: 28 days annual leave Contributory company pension Employee Health Cash Plan Support to gain formal Health & Social Care qualifications Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Salary: From £22,912.50 per year Benefits: Casual dress Company pension Sick pay Day range: Monday to Friday Shift: Day shift Experience: Health & Social Care: 3 years (required) APPLY HERE
